Monday December 1st

Hello all! I hope that each of you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We really enjoyed spending time with our loved ones. Having the grandchildren here this weekend was a blessing. We ate lots of food and goodies! Also me and Nikki (DIL) went to Hobby Lobby and stayed there for a couple of hours and then met up with the guys for dinner. She doesn't have a Hobby Lobby in Charleston so she fell in love with it!
I have been really struggling with pain this week and if it doesn't get any better I am going to have to go to the Dr.
I have a condition that is called Interstitial cystitis. It is very painful and sometimes very hard to deal with. So, I wanted to let everyone know that I don't know how much you will hear from me this week because of this but, I also wanted to give you a little bit of info on what this is.

Interstitial cystitis (IC) is pelvic pain, pressure, or discomfort related to the bladder, typically associated with persistent urge to void or urinary frequency. IC may also be referred to as chronic pelvic pain (CPP), painful bladder syndrome (PBS), or bladder pain syndrome (BPS).

Many people with IC experience severe, chronic pain. Some feel like their insides are being cut apart with razor blades. Others compare the pain to red hot pokers stabbing at their pelvic area.

What are the causes of IC?

No one knows what causes IC. Researchers are working to learn more about it and find treatments that will ease symptoms. Right now, there is no cure for IC.

For more info on IC go to http://www.womenshealth.gov/faq/interstitial-cystitis.cfm

Well, I hope everyone has a blessed day! And please keep me in your prayers. I will try to be back on here for Wednesday.

So sorry to hear about your condition. Just the regular cystitis is bad enough; I can't imagine having IC.

On a lighter note, I have an award for you...pop over to my blog to see!

I'm sorry you've been feeling bad! I have IC and I was diagnosed back in April of this year. I had a hard time at first, learning to handle the pain and trying to understand how to deal with everything. I'm not sure if your doctor told you or not, but diet is a big part of helping you get better. Eating acidic foods causes flares (but I've also read strenuous workouts, even travel can cause flares as well). I started a blog for people like me with IC. It focuses on IC-safe recipes, but I also post news articles and other things that would be of interest. I think you should check it out: TheICChef.blogspot.com
I hope you feel better! There is nothing worse than IC pains!!!

Hey Juanita,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I will add you to my list, too. We lived in Easley, SC for a year while my husband was the youth minister at Cross Roads Baptist. We met some really good friends while we were there. Your grandchildren are absolutely beautiful. And I will keep you in my prayers.
Blessings,
Susan
