I need Help Everyone!

O.K. everyone, As I stated in my last entry I am having a dinner party next Friday for about 8 couples. And my hubby and I have decided instead of fixing a dinner we will be having finger foods. So what I need help with is getting some ideas for preferably some make ahead recipes. The reason I say make ahead is because I don't want to be in that kitchen at the last minute finishing up 6 different foods. I also need some suggestions on non alcoholic drinks and any desserts. Now, I know that all my friends out there can give me some sort of suggestions and I do appreciate it.So come on gals help a sista out! Thanks so much. Oh and don't forget I won't be here tomorrow because I am going to my first craft fair tomorrow. I am so excited. I will be coming back with pics and hopefully some goodies! Have a blessed day!

I have an easy make ahead punch recipe...you will need lemons, limes, oranges and m. cherries. You slice the lemons, oranges and limes and lay around the outside of the pie plate, you want them to overlap so they look really beautiful. Once they are layered you put a cherry every about 3 inches. Now pour some cranberry juice in with the slices so it is about half full. Place it in the freezer. This is now your ice ring and as it melts your puch will have fruit in it...For the rest of the punch I add 1 part hawian puch, 2 parts cranberry juice and 1 part sprite. Place the fruit ring on top and you are ready to go.

An easy dessert...take a premade angel food cake, cool whip, your favorite fresh fruit, one can peaches(drained). In a beautiful tall bowl tear up the angel food cake into small pieces and cover the bottom of the bowl then add a layer of cool whip then the peaches, then layer of cake, cool whip and another different fruit...I use kiwi and make a row against the glass bowl just for looks...keep layering until you get to the toip...top woth cool whip and 3 strawberries for looks...it always is the first dessert to be gone when I have guests. ( I use grapes, strawberries, kiwi, bananasand peaches) HTH Dianntha

I have an awesome finger type dessert right out of Taste Of Home. Pumpkin Pecan Tassies. I made a double batch (48) for Thanksgiving and they were the 1st thing to go, they are SO SO SO good and super easy to make. Let me know if you want the recipe.

I also have a recipe for punch...
Evergreen Punch
2 pkgs. lemon-lime koolaid
2 qts. hot water
2 cups sugar
1 large can pineapple juice
1 qt. ginger ale
In a 1-gallon pitcher mix koolaid, sugar, and hot water until sugar is dissolved. Mix in pineapple juice and refrigerate. When ready to serve add ginger ale.

And here is a recipe for a cheese ball:
2 8oz. pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 envelope Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix
Mix together cream cheese and dip mix and shape into a ball.
*I serve this with holiday shaped Ritz crackers.

Hope you have a great party.
Blessings,
Susan

Juanita,
You could make those pan ham biscuits. They are easy to make. I dont have the recipe right on hand, but I can email it to ya. You can also do a cheese ball too. Those are simple as well.

Hey Juanita,
Here is the recipe for the pan ham biscuits. I dont know if they make the little rolls in the foil pans anymore, but you can try.

3 Tbls. Poppy Seeds
3 Tbls. Dijon Mustard
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 Med. Onion (diced)
8 Buns Party Buns/Buy these in foil pan.
1/2 lb. Deli Ham/Shaved thin
8 oz. Swiss Cheese/Slices
Cooking Instructions
Mix first 5 ingredients, Spread over opened buns. Add ham and cheese, return to foil pan and wrap in foil. Bake 10-15 minutes at 400 degrees. Can be frozen, may be prepared weeks ahead of time.

My mom used to make sandwich filling of cream cheese and chopped olives-She would spread it on white sandwich bread and cut them in 4 little squares (no crust) They really don't sound like much I know BUT they are always a huge hit! ALWAYS. She would make them ahead and cover them with plastic wrap. I used to work for Pampered Chef and we showed people how to make finger food-Here is the website (I love the pecan tassies-Well, I used to before I had to give up gluten) Go here for more recipes:

How are you feeling?

Here is my super duper easy crab dip recipe:

You'll need 1 brick of cream cheese, one bottle of cocktail sauce, 1 can of premium crab meat and green onions

1. Spread out evenly soft cream cheese on a platter a little bigger than a dinner plate
2. Pour 3/4 bottle of cocktail sauce on top (more if you like it saucy)
3. Drain crab meat and sprinkle on top - all over.
4. Dice up green onion very small and sprinkle on top
5. You can make this the day before and chill in the fridge
6. Serve w/ crackers

Have fun at your party! Wish I was coming! :-)
