Now, this re-post is very special to me it was my 2nd post that I ever posted and my 1st decorating attempt! So here we go..........
Hey everyone! It is raining here today, not that I am complaining. Thank you Lord! We are in a serious drought here so I do appreciate the blessing!! My husband and I have purchased our home about 3 years ago and just started attempting to do some major decorating. Our first decorating project was our guest room. I really wish I had taken some before pics to show you what it looked like, but I was so excited about this project that I was just ready to start. I had gotten the wrought iron bed from a Goodwill store a couple of months ago in Charleston S.C. Our son lives there with our 2 g-baby's so we go quite often. Anywho, they was having a special that day there that if you filled out a questionnaire you received 50%off your purchase. So, I seen this bed for $50 and knew I had to have it for our new project. Especially when I was getting it for 50% off to $25. I have recently just started getting into the antiquing and prim decorating so I have been going and looking for a lot of items at different places The 3 mirrors I received for 70% off at Peebles (they ended up being $3 a piece) Also at one of our little antique stores here on Main Street I found 4 American homestead pictures for $1 apiece w/o frames. So I attempted my first time of making some distressed frames. I recieved ideas on how to do this from a blogger and really appreciated it!! I went to Walmart and bought 4 $3 wooden picture frames and tada here they are. I am so proud of the way the room has turned out. I know it doesn't compare to a lot of you guys decorating but hey, for my first time I am pretty proud. We still have a little bit more to do in it. My husband is in the middle of building me a shelf that I seen last month in Country Home that I can put my mother-in-laws antique cup and saucers on.Well I dont't know how these pics will turn out because my husband has my camera with him. If they turn out blurry I will re-post them. Hope everyone has a blessed day!!
With the Summer fastly approaching and also berry season upon us(here in South Carolina it will be in the next few weeks!)I wanted to share this delicious recipe with ya'll! So here we go......The following are the ingredient's needed:
1 cup of dairy sour cream
2 Tablespoons of honey
2 Tablespoons of orange juice or grapefruit juice
1/2 cup of strawberries (halved or sliced) or 1 cup of raspberries
1/2 cup of seedless grapes
2 medium peaches or nectarines ( I used my peaches that I canned last summer)
2 small bananas, sliced
Prepare your Honey-Sour Cream Dressing first!
Mix sour cream, honey and orange juice. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
While the dressing is refrigerating cut your fruit and mix together in a bowl. You can spoon fruit mixture into lettuce cups and add mint sprigs if you would like (ooo pretty!) Or you can leave it in fruit bowl like I did! Serve with Honey-Sour Cream Dressing and there you have it!
Well I will be linking up to Foodie Friday so go on over to Designs by Gollum -. Hope you all enjoy! Me and dear hubby are going to be taking a much needed break for a few days. Hope you all have a blessed weekend and take care!
Good Mornin' Ya'll!
I am so sorry I was not able to post my To Inspire Tuesday Quote but I have had a "not so good" stomach virus . I won't go into details but I will say that I have never been that sick in about 23 years. It was ROUGH!!
So anyhoo..... I mentioned awhile ago that I needed to make some changes in my decorating. And change has been good. I have been visiting some blogs and have been getting inspirations from some of you and the one who Inspired me in todays post was Dot over atPicket's Place I absolutely love her style!
She had done a tutorial on "No Sew Curtains" and that is my kind of tut! I will try and share the tut on my next post. I am soooo behind on my housework around here. (I have been sick since Sunday) So I need to get my "hiney" in gear! If you can't wait to see the tut just go on over to Dots and check hers out! Without further adoo.......
So, watcha think?I am trying to decorate my kitchen and dining room in white and red. Ooooo, before I forget, the embroidered napkins I hung over the curtains were done by a sweet "Elder Saint of God" in my church, Miss. Lucille. She does some amazing work! And it went so well with my curtains. Also I want to link up to Sues It's A Very Cherry World! -Rednesday so, go over and look at all the other wonderful "Reds" that have linked up!Well thats all for now. Have a blessed day!
